As the Principal Owner and Attorney for her firm, Ral’s career in law began in Washington, D.C., where she earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Howard University School of Law and her Masters of Law (Summa Cum Laude) from the American University Washington College of Law. Before establishing her own firm, Ral represented clients for an esteemed boutique law firm in Washington, D.C.
After moving down to Houston , she became employed at one of the biggest Plaintiff’s Personal Injury firms in Texas for nearly two years. The experience she gained working for a large firm gave her the opportunity to learn the market before hanging her shingle. We sat down with Ral to learn more about her law office and what inspired her to break away and start her own practice in Houston.
Tell us about your Law Firm, Ral.
The Law Office of Ral Obioha, PLLC is a Houston-based law firm dedicated to providing tailored, personable and First Class affordable legal solutions to individuals and businesses in Texas and beyond.

What inspires you as an attorney?
I am in the business of lifting a burden from my clients. What inspires me is to hear the sigh of relief from my clients when I deliver. It makes me want to hit the ground running with the next client. It makes me happy to know that I am doing good work- reuniting families, helping individuals start or manage their own businesses, helping the injured recover from injuries or loss from an auto accident, or securing my clients’ assets for their loved ones.
I am also inspired by my faith in God. I am an avid believer that we were all placed here to serve and to enrich the lives of people around us. I am also part of a large but very close-knit family: I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers. When I am outside of the office and not working, I love spending time with my husband and family, as well, traveling.
What’s the history behind your business and how you got into it?
I worked in “Big Law” for several years after law school, at various firms in Washington D.C. and here in Houston, Texas, but I kept feeling unfulfilled… like I had more to give. While I was grateful for the remarkable experiences of learning under highly-skilled attorneys who were the best in their fields, I craved an atmosphere where I could give my clients personalized attention. So, last year, I finally took the plunge and started my own boutique law practice.
How did you come to be at a Boxer Property location?
When I started shopping for office space, I knew I wanted an office location around the Southwest Freeway. I did a drive-by of the area and noticed the building standing tall and easily noticeable from various angles. I knew this would a great fit for me.
A friend of mine is also a 6-year Boxer Property tenant about a mile from my building. She had so many positive reviews regarding her office experience with Boxer that I was immediately sold on it!

Our experience has been nothing short of satisfying at 6201 Bonhomme Road. We are quite happy with our space! It’s very well designed and maintained. The property managers are ever so gracious and eager to help. I am committed to Boxer Property for the long haul.

Top business goals for this year?
The firm is fast-growing and this year, my business goal is to keep it growing and to reach as many people as I can effectively serve in the city of Houston. When people think of an attorney or law firm that actually cares, we want to be first-in-mind!
