We’re excited to announce that David Barry has been promoted to a Regional Leasing Manager for the Atlanta, GA market. In this role, David will be responsible for the management and recruitment of key staff, major transactions, developing broker relationships and general portfolio management.

David joined Boxer Property as a Senior Leasing Representative in March of 2014 to focus on leasing and business development of the historic Hurt building in downtown Atlanta. David’s new role will add senior level local focus and expertise for Boxer in a market that has acquired 6 new properties and 1.4MM square feet over the last 3 years.

David is an Atlanta native, born into a real estate family. In 1989 he launched his real estate career by joining Portman Barry Investments, a full service Class A office development, leasing and management company founded by his father Hal Barry and world renowned architect, John Portman. David was ultimately responsible for the leasing and marketing of their flagship properties, the million square foot Northpark Town Center in the North Central Atlanta and the 500,000 square foot Riverwood building in Northwest Atlanta. Most recently in 1997, David joined Barry Real Estate Companies as a partner to launch and develop the leasing and management divisions of the development company. Over a 15 year span the company developed and leased over 4 MM square feet of Class A office space throughout the Southeast.

Boxer Property announced today that The Hurt Building in Atlanta has won the 2014 Southern Region TOBY Award, Historical Category. The BOMA Southern Region awards Dinner was held Saturday, April 5, in Birmingham, AL. This makes the 4th BOMA Southern Region TOBY awarded to the 100 year old, LEED-EB Platinum Hurt Building including the Southern Region TOBY in the Earth category in 2010. The Hurt Building was awarded the International TOBY in the Historical category in 2007.

“I am so proud to represent the Hurt Building in this competition,” said Senior Property Manager, Shannon Westberg. “Achieving this level of victory is a symbol that reflects both the excellence of The Hurt Building and Boxer Property’s commitment to delivering outstanding service and quality.”

The Hurt Building is a key member of Central Atlanta Progress (CAP) and the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID), organizations helping to bring Downtown to the next level with game-changing initiatives and programs, like the Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge(BBC). Christopher Ball has joined Boxer as a Property Manager.
